<p>March 1 is Self-Injury Awareness Day&nbsp;</p>

<p>Self-harm is often misunderstood. For many people, it isn’t about wanting to die — it’s about trying to cope with overwhelming emotions, numbness, or pain they don’t know how to express yet. Shame and secrecy keep people silent, but healing starts when we replace judgment with compassion.</p>



<p>If you or someone you love struggles with self-injury:<br>• You are not “attention-seeking” — you are trying to survive something hard<br>• You are not broken — you need support and safer coping tools<br>• You are not alone — help exists and recovery is possible</p>



<p>Today we encourage open conversations, gentle check-ins, and kindness. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is: “I’m here. You don’t have to go through this by yourself.”</p>
